Prof. Dr. med. Gero Tenderich is a highly experienced cardiac surgeon, currently serving as the Head of the Department at Klinikum Niederrhein since 2010, focusing on surgical treatment of end-stage heart failure and mechanical circulatory support. Previously, Tenderich held prominent positions including Head of Department at the International Cardiovascular Center Rhein-Ruhr and Chief Consultant for the Department of Heart Failure and Thoracic Transplantation at the Heart- and Diabetescenter NorthRhine-Westphalia. Tenderich has extensive research experience, having worked as a research fellow at the University of Pittsburgh in the Division of Cell Transplantation and the Lung Transplant Program. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Heinrich-Heine Universitaet Duesseldorf and a Professor of Medicine from Ruhr University Bochum, among other certifications and roles in various prestigious medical institutions.
