Lisa John

Lisa has worked in the field of providing Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) services and supports since 1995. Most of her career was spent in the Central New York (CNY) region where she held a Senior Vice President role at Upstate Cerebral Palsy in Utica, NY. She also served as the Compliance Officer and the HIPAA Privacy Officer for the agency and affiliate agencies, specifically for programs that provided services under the auspices New York State’s OPWDD, OCFS, SED, OMH, and DOH.

Throughout her career, Lisa has established positive relationships with people supported, their families, the Justice Center, and various government and oversight agencies. Lisa has significant experience with Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG), Office of Inspector General (OIG), and other external auditors. She has been instrumental in the development and participation of various strategic initiatives to improve service delivery to those with I/DD.

In 2016, the NYS Justice Center recognized Lisa for her advocacy of the people they support and adherence to the Code of Conduct.

Lisa received her Bachelor of Psychology from SUNY IT and attended State University of New York Institute of Technology (SUNY IT) and SUNY Albany for a Social Welfare Master of Social Work degree (MSW). Lisa also completed the Certification of Healthcare Compliance (CHC) through Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and attended the National Leadership Institute for Developmental Disabilities at the University of Delaware. Lisa thrives on being a part of this evolving world in improving service for people with I/DD.
