Karl-Otto Zentel

Karl-Otto Zentel is an experienced leader in disaster management and humanitarian assistance, currently serving as Secretary General at CARE Deutschland e.V. since November 2012. Previously, Zentel held the position of CEO at Deutsches Komitee Katastrophenvorsorge e.V. from January 2001 to November 2012, focusing on disaster reduction in Germany. Before that, Zentel was involved with Welthungerhilfe as Ländergruppensprecher from 1997 to 1999. Karl-Otto Zentel holds a Magister degree in Afrikanistik, Islamische Philologie, and Islamkunde from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
