CARE commenced its humanitarian activities in Kenya in 1968. Since then CARE has implemented  a substantial number of development and humanitarian programs. CARE places special focus on working alongside women and girls  because, equipped with the proper resources, they have the power to lift whole families and  entire communities out of poverty. Its goal is to ensure they develop a means of self-reliance and  have a sustainable, high quality of life and that they fully realizing their rights.
