Alaa Abdullah

Alaa Abdullah is an experienced professional in risk management and security operations, currently serving as the Director of Risk Management at CARE since June 2021. In this role, Alaa develops and implements risk management procedures and conducts security risk assessments for over 300 staff members. Prior to CARE, Alaa worked at Creative Associates International as a Country Risk Manager and Safety and Security Coordinator, focusing on emergency response plans and monitoring security in operational areas. Alaa's career also includes significant roles at the International Rescue Committee, where responsibilities included preparing Security Management Plans and coordinating with security actors. Alaa holds a Bachelor's degree in Language Interpretation and Translation from Jami't Al-Ba'ath and a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from Al Raqqa Teaching Institute.
