Senior Director, Women And Girl’s Protection In Emergencies

Leora Ward is a distinguished professional in the field of humanitarian assistance and women's protection, currently serving as the Senior Director for Women and Girl’s Protection in Emergencies at CARE since October 2021. In addition to this role, Leora has been an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University since August 2018 and is the Creator of Healing in Service, an initiative focused on empowering women through healing and community building. Leora's extensive experience includes positions as a Senior Social Development Specialist at The World Bank and a Program Officer for Gender Equality at the U.S. Department of State. Previous roles also include Senior Technical Advisor at the International Rescue Committee and Program and Advocacy Officer at the American Refugee Committee.
