Lisbet Ilkjaer

Lisbet Ilkjaer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategy and organizational development within the humanitarian and human rights sectors. Currently serving as Senior Project Lead for Strategy & Transformation at CARE USA, Lisbet also holds the position of External Examiner for African Studies at the University of Copenhagen. Formerly, Lisbet was the International Director at CARE Danmark and has held significant roles such as Acting Secretary-General and Director of Organizational Development at the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims. Contributions to the Danish Institute for Human Rights include leading initiatives in Africa, Asia, and Eurasia, as well as being a strategic adviser in West Africa. Academic involvement includes teaching Public International Law at the University of Copenhagen. Lisbet's educational background includes a Master of Laws from King's College London and advanced degrees in Law from the University of Copenhagen.
