Karyn Scott

Karyn Scott has a diverse work experience, with a strong focus on music education and advocacy for youth in foster care. Karyn co-founded Kids in a New Groove in 2007, a nonprofit organization that offers private music lessons to children in foster care, helping them transition into adulthood successfully. Karyn served as the Executive Director of the organization until 2016. In 2016, they became the CEO of Care2Rock, an online music lesson platform that not only provides convenient music education but also connects teachers with the opportunity to mentor a child in foster care. Prior to their work in the music industry, Karyn served as an Assistant District Attorney at the Travis County District Attorney's Office from 1995 to 2000.

Karyn Scott pursued their undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in film, advertising, and communications. The specific duration of their undergraduate education is not provided. Following this, Karyn attended Pepperdine Law from 1991 to 1993, where they obtained a JD degree in Law.
