Laura Atherton has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a Testing Proctor and Substitute Teacher at C-TEC of Licking County since February 2021. Laura has been the Bell Choir Director at Neal Avenue UMC since August 2004 and previously held the position of Project Director for the Rockin' Cool Freedom School, a summer literacy program for students in grades K-8, at CDF Freedom Schools of Licking County from January 2020 to December 2021. Laura’s career at C-TEC of Licking County spanned from August 1986 to July 2020, during which time Laura taught mathematics, computers, and accounting, while also advising HOSA and BPA. Laura holds a Master of Education in Supervision from Ashland University and a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a focus on Mathematics, Business, and Data Processing from The University of Akron.

Our mission is clear: ”provide all learners with academic and technical skills needed for career opportunities and continuous learning.” The majority of tomorrow’s jobs will require people to have technical training. The technical curriculum at C-TEC's High School and Adult Education Center prepares students to enter the workforce and/or a two or four-year college degree programs. In addition to our High School and Adult Education Center, C-TEC offers Customized Training to local employers to assure that their employees have the technical skills necessary to succeed. Customized Training is available around the clock on and off-site.
