Matt Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Matt is currently the Director of Postsecondary Education at C-TEC of Licking County since August 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Robotics and Automated Manufacturing Instructor at the same company from August 2022 to August 2023. Before joining C-TEC, Matt worked as a Regional Manager at Wausau Supply Company from August 2020 to August 2022. Matt also served as an Instructor at C-TEC of Licking County from August 2018 to August 2020. In addition, Matt was the District Manager at Benbilt Building Systems from October 2016 to July 2018. Matt started their career at Palmer-Donavin in September 1989, where they held various roles including Vice President and General Manager, General Manager, and Sales. Matt's tenure at Palmer-Donavin lasted until August 2016.
Matt Thompson obtained a Masters in Engineering with a specialization in Construction Engineering Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Matt attended the university from 2018 to 2019. Prior to their Masters, Matt earned a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree from Marshall University in 2012. The field of study for the Regents Bachelor of Arts degree is unspecified. In addition to their formal education, Matt has also obtained certifications in Construction Engineering Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in December 2018 and in NAW Next Generation Leadership from Western International University in October 2015.

At C-TEC we help our students make successful transitions, regardless of their stage in life. Our mission is clear: ”provide all learners with academic and technical skills needed for career opportunities and continuous learning.” The majority of tomorrow’s jobs will require people to have technical training. The technical curriculum at C-TEC's High School and Adult Education Center prepares students to enter the workforce and/or a two or four-year college degree programs. In addition to our High School and Adult Education Center, C-TEC offers Customized Training to local employers to assure that their employees have the technical skills necessary to succeed. Customized Training is available around the clock on and off-site.
