Wendy Knechtel

Wendy Knechtel is an experienced fundraising professional with a significant background in health and community services. Currently serving as the Manager of Fundraising at Carefor Health & Community Services since October 2022, Wendy has held various leadership positions, including Capital Campaign Manager at Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre/Foundation and Interim Executive Director at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation. Previous roles include Community Relations Director at IslandView Retirement Suites and Manager of Communications and Fund Development at Arnprior Regional Health, where Wendy played a key role in the organization's rebranding. Additional experience includes community development at Canadian Paraplegic Association, teaching fundraising courses at Algonquin College, and event assistance at Ottawa Senators Foundation. Wendy holds a degree in Public Relations from Algonquin College and a degree in Arts (Sociology-Anthropology) from Carleton University, along with further education from CFRE school.
