Lara de Sousa has a diverse and extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Lara began their career as an Occupational Therapist at the Canadian Mental Health Association - Toronto Branch in 1998 and later became a Program Manager, responsible for operational management and program development. In 2006, they became a Clinical Manager at CAMH before joining the University Health Network in 2008 as an Executive Director, where they handled strategic and operational development of primary care services.

In 2012, Lara joined the Mississauga Halton Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) and served as a Project Manager before being promoted to Director of Patient Care. Lara then transitioned to Circle of Care, Sinai Health System in 2017 as the Vice President of Client Services.

Currently, Lara is working at CarePartners as the Vice President of Patient Care and Experience. In 2024, they are set to assume the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the company. With their experience in management, program development, and operational leadership, Lara has played instrumental roles in delivering quality healthcare services throughout their career.

Lara de Sousa obtained a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto in 1994. Later, they pursued a Masters in Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation (HPME) from the same university, completing the program in 2004.
