Dean Browell has a long and varied work experience. In 1993, they began writing and playwrighting for Hidden In Plain Site, Ghost Notes, Eighteen Words, and other works. In 2000, they took on the role of Director of PR and Freshman Advisor, as well as Webmaster, at Ferrum College. In 2006, they became Director of New Media and Director of Public Relations & New Media at Neathawk Dubuque & Packett. Dean also became Past President and Board Member of The Community Partnership for the Revitalization of Rocky Mount, VA. In 2008, they became an Instructor at the University of Richmond's Institute on Philanthropy, teaching the social media course. In 2012, they became a Member of Worldwide Partners, Inc. In 2020, they became Co-Founder of Hidden In Plain Site, as well as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Business. In 2021, they became Chief Behavioral Officer at CareStarter, a role they had previously held at Feedback since 2009.

Dean Browell received their B.A. in Drama from Randolph-Macon College between 1994 and 1998. Dean then obtained their MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix between 2002 and 2004. Finally, they earned their PhD in Education (Engagement of 17-25 y/o demographic) from Capella University between 2004 and 2007. Additionally, they hold a Healthcare Marketing Credential from the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD).
