Eric Liao has a strong background in scientific research and development. Eric began their career as a Lab Assistant at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2015 and then progressed to the role of Junior Specialist, where they studied Ribosome structure and function and ensured lab safety regulations were met. In 2018, Eric joined Anwita Biosciences Inc as a Research Associate, where they designed and cloned antibodies and fusion proteins, performed cell culture maintenance and transfections, and purified and characterized proteins. Eric was later promoted to Senior Research Associate, where they focused on protein engineering, verification of protein-protein interactions, and development of chromatography methods. Most recently, in 2022, Eric joined CARGO Therapeutics as an Associate Scientist.
Eric Liao obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Eric attended this institution from 2012 to 2016.
