Candy Cardinez

Candy Cardinez has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Candy began their career at South West Regional Health Authority in 1994 as a Registered Nurse/Licensed Midwife, where they worked until 2007. Candy then joined NORTH Central Regional Health Authority as a District Health Visitor from 2007 to 2016. In 2014, they worked as a Registered Nurse/Licensed Midwife at Petrotrin until 2018. Candy also briefly worked at Yara International as an Occupational Health Nurse in 2018. Later in 2019, they held the position of Primary Care Nurse Manager at North West Regional Health Authority before joining Caribbean Airlines Ltd as the Head Nurse in August 2019.

Candy Cardinez has a diverse education history. Candy obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Hospital and Health Services Management from the University of Bedfordshire Business School in 2021. Prior to that, they completed a Certificate in Occupational Health, Safety & Environment from Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies in 2011. Candy also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing/School Health from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus (2008), a Diploma in Health Visiting Studies from the same institution (2006), and a Certificate in Midwifery from the School of Midwifery (2004). Their education journey began with an Associate of Science in General Nursing from Niherst College of Nursing in 1993.

Moreover, Candy has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These certifications include Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) from the American Heart Association, First Aid Instructor from the Civil Aviation Authority Trinidad & Tobago, Caribbean Airlines Instructor Training from the University of the West Indies, as well as certifications in project management, leadership, negotiation, and social norms from various institutions such as Boeing Global Learning Institute, GoSkills.com, LinkedIn, and UNICEF. Additionally, they completed the Train the Trainer program at Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, University of the West Indies in 2019 and obtained Advanced Trauma Life Support certification from the Society of Surgeons Trinidad and Tobago in 2017.
