Joseph T. Farquharson

Joseph T. Farquharson is an experienced linguist and educator currently serving as Chief Editor at the Dictionary of the Jamaican Language and Convenor of the CAPE Communication Studies Subject Panel for the Caribbean Examinations Council. Farquharson has held a series of academic positions at the University of the West Indies, Mona, including Senior Lecturer, Deputy Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, and Coordinator of the Jamaican Language Unit, while also contributing to the Jamaican Lexicography Project. Farquharson has served as a consultant for notable companies such as Paramount Pictures and Motive Pictures, focusing on language and subtitling, and has engaged in research as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Cologne. Farquharson's educational background includes a PhD in Linguistics from The University of the West Indies, alongside advanced degrees from the University of Cambridge and various certifications in adult education and learning technologies.
