Director Of Quality Control at Carisma Therapeutics

Maggie Wesberry Schmierer has worked in the biotechnology field since 2007. Maggie began their career as a Research Assistant I at the Henry M Jackson Foundation, where they worked for six years. During this time, they were responsible for executing and analyzing ELISA-based assays, MT2 and GHosT cell coreceptor phenotyping, cell culture, and viral culture. Maggie also managed chemical inventories, material safety data sheets, laboratory stocking, inventory, and ordering. In 2013, they joined CytoVas, LLC as a Director of Laboratory Operations and Scientist I. In 2018, they moved to Carisma Therapeutics, where they have served as an Associate Director of Quality Control, Senior Manager of Scientific Operations, and Assay Development Manager.

Maggie Wesberry Schmierer obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biotechnology from The Johns Hopkins University between 2010 and 2012. Maggie also obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology, General from Louisiana State University between 1999 and 2004. Additionally, they hold a certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) called SCYM.
