Music Therapist (student Placement) at Carizon Family and Community Services

Sara Fretz is a seasoned music therapist with a diverse background in patient experience and engagement, currently part of Brant Community Healthcare System since 2016. In addition to this role, Sara provides music therapy and counselling services at the Women’s Crisis Center and Brantford General Hospital, focusing on domestic violence survivors and long-term, palliative, and mental health care. Sara has also worked as a music therapist in various capacities, including with children facing mental health challenges at Carizon Family and Community Services, and has held teaching assistant responsibilities at Wilfrid Laurier University. Previous roles include walk-in counseling at KW Counselling Services and volunteer work at Headingley Correctional Centre. Sara holds both a Master of Music Therapy and a Bachelor of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University, demonstrating a deep commitment to the therapeutic power of music.
