Douglas Shackelford is Director of Public Affairs and Communications for Central Arkansas Water.

Shackelford’s primary role at CAW is the direction and oversight of the Communications and Public Affairs department at the utility. This includes serving as primary spokesperson, oversight of the education section, and all public policy and community outreach programs. An award-winning journalist, Shackelford has spent more than 20 years in the communications and public affairs industry.

Shackelford is a native of Hot Springs. He attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, where he graduated in 1998 with a degree in Journalism/Mass Communications. Doug is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Hot Springs, a 2008 graduate of the inaugural Jeff Faris Leadership Academy, and a 2017 graduate of Leadership Arkansas. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, an officer with Knights of Columbus Council 10167, president of the West Little Rock Rotary Club, and an Eagle Scout.
