Rene Hessling

Rene Hessling currently serves as the Managing Director of ZEISS Australia and New Zealand since March 2015, focusing on strategic planning and business management. Prior to this role, Rene was the Head of Research Microscopy Solutions for Australia and New Zealand, developing regional strategic initiatives. Between January 2012 and February 2015, Rene held the position of Sales Manager in Germany for Carl Zeiss Microscopy GmbH, overseeing sales and service for the Light and Electron Microscopy portfolio. From August 2008 to January 2012, Rene was the Head of the Microscopy Division at Carl Zeiss Ltd, responsible for sales and service in the UK and Ireland. Earlier roles included the Head of the Training Application & Support Center and Application Specialist for Laser Scanning Microscopy at Carl Zeiss Microscopy GmbH. Rene holds a Doctorate in Biology from Universität Osnabrück, awarded in January 2001.
