Tom van Rompaey

Tom Van Rompaey has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Tom started their career as a Web Developer at English Trackers Co Ltd, where they gained experience in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS. Tom then joined LUON as a .NET Application Developer, working on projects involving ASP.NET MVC, Umbraco, SQL Server, and JavaScript. Later, they joined IT Consultis as a Senior Full-Stack Developer and eventually became a Technical Lead, specializing in Laravel, React, Drupal, Magento, Electron, and Docker. Currently, Tom is working at ZEISS Group as a Lead Integration Architect, responsible for building the digital backbone for the company in China and supporting the localization of global digital products. Tom also contributes to improving the technical stack, architecture, and security across teams.

Tom Van Rompaey attended the Sint-Ursula-Instituut from 2004 to 2010, where they obtained a high school degree in Accounting and Information Technology. From 2010 to 2013, they studied Applied Computer Science at Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven and earned a Bachelor's Degree. Aside from their formal education, Tom also holds additional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, obtained in March 2023, and Umbraco - Certified Developer, obtained in 2014.
