Dr. Kathy Dobson

Dr. Kathy Dobson serves as the Managing Editor with ALiGN Media Lab and an Instructor at Carleton University, contributing to the School of Journalism and Communication since September 2014. With over 20 years of experience as a journalist, Dr. Dobson has worked with prominent media outlets, including the CBC and numerous national publications, while also authoring two books published by Véhicule Press. Credentials include a Ph.D. in Journalism and Communication from Carleton University and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University. Notably involved in research on social movements, digital media, and public engagement, Dr. Dobson has been recognized for contributions to the field through roles such as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and co-interim Director at ALiGN Media Lab.
