Rob Taylor has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Rob began their career as a Technician in the British Army in 1981 and served until 1988. After that, they worked as an AME at Canadian Airlines from 1989 to 1992. Rob then worked as a Technician at Pratt & Whitney Canada in 1993, followed by a role as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at Turbowest Helicopters from 1993 to 1996. In 1997, they joined WestJet Airlines as the Director of Technical Services and Purchasing, where they worked until 2006. From 2006 to 2007, they served as the Managing Director at SEB Aviation / Pacific Sky. In 2007, they joined Apollo Aviation Group as the SVP & Chief Technical Officer, and they currently hold the position of Chief Technical Officer at Carlyle Aviation Partners since 2019.

Rob Taylor attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2019, where they pursued a degree in Technology Management. Prior to that, from 1981 to 1983, they studied at Princess Marina College, focusing on Aeroscience (Mechanical). In addition to their educational background, Rob Taylor has obtained several certifications, including MCMI from the Chartered Management Institute in June 2014 and MRAeS from the Royal Aeronautical Society in 2012. Rob also holds the iEng certification from the Engineering Council, although the specific details of when they obtained it are not available.
