Tim Michaels

Tim Michaels is a seasoned data science professional serving as a Senior Manager at CarMax since March 2018, where leadership of an R&D team focuses on developing cutting-edge AI pricing algorithms, contributing over $40M in annual value through enhanced pricing models. Previously, Tim held various roles at the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs since July 2011, including Community Ambassador and President, where leadership efforts included a five-year strategic plan and organizing a national championship. Tim’s extensive experience in gymnastics also encompasses serving as a Board Member and National Apparatus Leader for the National Gymnastics Judges Association and judging at international competitions. Academically, Tim earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
