Tyson Steele has over two decades of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and travel logistics, currently serving as the Director of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement at CarMax since August 2013. In this role, Tyson manages logistics, travel, construction, and facilities, overseeing a significant portfolio including more than 1.5 million vehicle moves annually. Previous positions at CarMax included Category Lead and Category Manager, where Tyson demonstrated expertise in supplier management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing. Before joining CarMax, Tyson held the title of Director of Team Travel for the Detroit Tigers, where responsibilities included managing a $7 million travel budget, overseeing logistics for over 200 games, and collaborating closely with the team’s management and Major League Baseball. Tyson holds a degree from Oakland University.
