Mikael Rittri has worked as a senior research fellow at Chalmers University of Technology from 1990 to 1995. During this time, their role involved conducting research. Mikael then joined Carmenta AB in 1995 as a software engineer. In this position, Mikael was responsible for developing software using Carmenta Engine, a toolkit for building geographic information systems. Their expertise in coordinate reference systems, map projections, geodetic datums, and geometric algorithms was crucial in their role.
Mikael Rittri obtained their B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics and Computing Science from the University of Gothenburg, where they were enrolled from 1983 to 1990.
