Ilse Kenis

Ilse Kenis serves as the Chief Carbon Officer and General Manager of Carmeuse Technologies, contributing to the Executive Committee since October 2022. Previously, Kenis held various roles at Sibelco Group from May 2012 to July 2021, including Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer and Chief Commercial Officer, while being a board member of High 5 Recycling Group. With extensive experience as a global market segment leader in engineered stone, environmental, and renewable energy sectors, Kenis has also led Sibelco's global marketing team. Additional positions include Vice President and Director of Strategic Development at Sibelco, as well as a board member at Act&Sorb. Earlier career stages involved knowledge expert roles at McKinsey & Company and academic positions at RWTH Aachen University and KU Leuven, where Kenis completed a PhD and worked as a postdoctoral fellow. Educational qualifications include a PhD and a Master's degree in Geology from KU Leuven, along with business coaching certification from Coaching Square.
