Neal Palles has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Neal started their career in 1991 as an Instructor and Course Director at the Northwest Outward Bound School. From 2000 to 2008, they worked as a Management Resource Consultant at Horizon Health, where they provided services to contracted Employee Assistance Program (EAP) customers, including employer consultation and case management. In 2008, they joined Anthem as an EAP Consultant, responsible for delivering services to EAP contracted organizations and providing supervisor consultation. In 2019, they transitioned to Colorado Psychotherapy and Sport Performance, LLC, where they worked as a Psychotherapist and Mental Performance Consultant. Currently, they are employed as an Ultrarunning Coach at Carmichael Training Systems.

Neal Palles has a diverse education history.

Neal obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Applied Sport Psychology from Adams State University, where they studied from 2016 to 2019. Before that, they earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Loyola University Chicago, completing their studies between 1996 and 1998.

Neal also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology and Biology from the University of Oregon, where they studied from 1986 to 1993. Prior to attending the University of Oregon, they participated in outdoor leadership training at The National Outdoor Leadership School in 1986 and the North Carolina Outward Bound School in 1985.

In addition to their formal education, Neal Palles has obtained various certifications from Coursera. In 2018, they completed a course titled "Positive Psychology: Martin E. P. Seligman's Visionary Science." In 2014, they obtained certifications in "Introductory Human Physiology" and "Sports and Society." In 2013, they completed a course on "Exercise Physiology: Understanding the Athlete Within."
