Saskia Levy Thompson

Program Director, New Designs To Advance Learning at Carnegie Corporation of New York

Saskia Levy Thompson has a diverse work experience that spans across various organizations. Saskia started their career as a Project Director at The Municipal Art Society of New York in 1999. Saskia then went on to become the Founding Executive Director of The Urban Assembly, Inc. in 2003. After this, Saskia joined MDRC as a Visiting Fellow and later became a Senior Associate.

In 2010, Saskia joined the NYC Department of Education and held several roles such as Deputy Chief Schools Officer, CEO of the Office of School Support, and Special Advisor to the Chancellor for Educational Research and Policy. Saskia also served as the Deputy Chancellor of the Division of Portfolio Planning.

In 2014, Saskia joined The Research Alliance for New York City Schools as a Visiting Fellow and Deputy Director. Following this, they became the Program Director for New Designs to Advance Learning at Carnegie Corporation of New York in 2015.

Throughout their career, Saskia has gained extensive experience in educational research, policy development, and strategic planning.

Saskia Levy Thompson attended Hunter College High School from 1988 to 1994. Saskia then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from New York University, graduating in 1998.
