Frederic Grare is a seasoned expert in international relations, currently serving as a Senior Associate and Director of the South Asia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace since August 2012. Prior to this role, Frederic held the position of Head of the Asia Bureau at the Direction des Affaires Strategiques within the French Ministry of Defense from October 2008 to September 2012. Frederic's earlier experience includes serving as Counselor for Culture and Cooperation at the Embassy of France in Islamabad from January 2003 to September 2005. Frederic holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International Studies, earned between 1987 and 1995, and possesses a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches in Political Science and Government from the Institut d'Études Politiques (Sciences-Po) Paris.
