Michael Salter

Summer Music Educators Workshop Lead Teacher at Carnegie Hall

Michael Salter is a multifaceted musical professional with extensive experience as a performer, educator, and composer. Since May 2025, Michael serves as a Royal Global Clarinet Performing Artist, while also leading workshops for the Summer Music Educators Workshop at Carnegie Hall since July 2023. In addition, Michael is the Director of Ensembles and Creative Learning for Nat King Cole Generation Hope, Inc. and has held positions with the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic as a Bass Clarinetist, Tenor Saxophonist, and Teaching Artist since July 2008. Previous roles include composer and producer at Red Bull Records and an orchestral composer for the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino. Michael's educational background includes an MBA from The Global Leaders Institute and a degree from Northern Illinois University.
