Roger Leiton-Thompson

Roger Leiton-Thompson is an experienced professional in the field of astronomy and astrophysics, currently serving as an Instrument & Operations Support Specialist at the Carnegie Institution for Science since May 2022. Prior experience includes roles as Science Coordinator and University Lecturer at Universidad de Concepción, focusing on coordinating research projects and teaching Nuclear and Atomic Physics. Roger has also held leadership positions, including Head of the Science Division at Centro para la Instrumentación Astronómica (CePIA), and has been involved in significant research as a Postdoctoral Researcher on projects related to black holes and galaxy evolution at various institutions. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Paris-Sud University and a Ph.D. in Physics from Universidad de Concepción, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Physics with a minor in Astronomy from Universidad de La Serena.
