Matthew Hoolsema

Matthew Hoolsema has extensive experience in data science and advanced analytics, currently serving as the Director at Carnegie Mellon University since October 2015. Previous roles at the university included Associate Director and Assistant Director, where Matthew focused on providing analytics solutions for institutional planning, competitive dynamics, and budget allocation strategies, alongside conducting statistical analyses and reporting findings for decision-makers. Prior to this, Matthew held various research and teaching positions at The University of Arizona, including roles as a Graduate Assistant and Research Assistant, where responsibilities encompassed designing research protocols and supporting enrollment management strategies. Matthew's career commenced in education as a Teacher at Sunnyside Unified School District. Matthew holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Western Michigan University.
