Matthew R. Marsteller is a seasoned library professional with extensive experience in academia, currently serving as Principal Librarian Emeritus and Associate Dean for Faculty at Carnegie Mellon University since August 1999. In this role, oversight is provided for the library faculty annual review process as well as faculty appointments, reappointments, and promotions in accordance with university policies. Previous positions at Carnegie Mellon included Principal Librarian and Senior Librarian for Engineering & Science, where in-depth research support was offered to various engineering and science departments.
