Vp, Hospice Services & Serious Illness Care at Carolina Caring

Pam Markland currently serves as the VP of Hospice Services and Serious Illness Care at Carolina Caring since November 2023. Previously, Pam held various positions in healthcare management, including Manager of Oncology Operations at UNC Health Blue Ridge, where responsibilities included leading operations within a medical oncology clinic and coordinating provider and administrative efforts. Pam has also contributed to education as an adjunct instructor at Appalachian State University and led patient access operations for Appalachian Regional Healthcare System. With a Master of Health Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management from Gardner-Webb University, Pam brings extensive experience and leadership in healthcare operations and project management.

Carolina Caring was founded in 1979 by volunteers dedicated to providing end of life care for both patients and families residing in Catawba County, North Carolina and its surrounding counties. Today, our team of professionals and volunteers serves more than 300 hospice patients. Our Mission is to provide world class, compassionate care by engaging all individuals and their families to enhance living. A comprehensive program of medical care, counseling, and spiritual support for patients and families is offered regardless of diagnosis, age, gender, nationality, race, faith, sexual preference, disability, or ability to pay.
