Patrick Owensby, MHA, BSN, currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Serious Illness Care at Carolina Caring, a role held since November 2020, where leadership is provided to Palliative Medicine and Home Based Primary Care programs. Prior to this position, Patrick Owensby was the Vice President of Home Based Primary Care at FryeCare Physicians Network from 2017 to November 2020, and held the title of Market Director-Physician Services at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center from March 2014 to August 2017. Educational qualifications include a Master of Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University, a BSN from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Carolinas College of Health Sciences.

Carolina Caring was founded in 1979 by volunteers dedicated to providing end of life care for both patients and families residing in Catawba County, North Carolina and its surrounding counties. Today, our team of professionals and volunteers serves more than 300 hospice patients. Our Mission is to provide world class, compassionate care by engaging all individuals and their families to enhance living. A comprehensive program of medical care, counseling, and spiritual support for patients and families is offered regardless of diagnosis, age, gender, nationality, race, faith, sexual preference, disability, or ability to pay. Carolina Caring is licensed by the state of North Carolina, certified by Medicare and Medicaid, is nationally accredited, and complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act privacy practices.
