Jon Lepofsky

Jon Lepofsky currently serves as the Head of Upper School at Carolina Friends School since July 2023. With extensive experience in higher education, Jon has held various positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since 2010, including Adjunct Faculty, Teaching Assistant Professor, International Education Program Coordinator, and Lecturer, focusing on Geography courses. Previously, Jon was a Teacher and Dean for Students at Carolina Friends School from August 2005 to June 2018, creating and teaching classes that addressed complex themes such as ethics, identity, and global issues. Additionally, Jon was the Academic Director at Duke University from July 2014 to August 2017, where responsibilities included curriculum development and program management. Jon earned a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.A. in Metropolitan Studies from New York University.
