Barbara Dean Mpas

Barbara Dean, DMSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, is an experienced medical writer and Physician Assistant with a strong background in oncology and patient education. Currently serving as a freelance medical writer for the American Institute for Cancer Research and Within Health, Barbara authors patient-facing articles on cancer and eating disorders. As the owner of BD Medical Writing, Barbara produces a variety of educational materials and manages company operations. Previous roles include a Physician Assistant in hematology/oncology and family practice, alongside managing a fly-fishing guide service. Education includes a Doctor of Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
