Jim Szoke

Jim Szoke serves as the Sports Director for News 1110 WBT Radio at Radio One in Charlotte since June 2005. Szoke has extensive experience in broadcasting, including roles as an NFL broadcaster for the Carolina Panthers since July 1995, and as a Football Radio Play-by-Play announcer for East Carolina University since August 2023. Additionally, Szoke has co-hosted "Primetime in the ACC" for LEARFIELD from July 2012 until December 2023 and provided national radio play-by-play for college football with Touchdown Radio Productions from November 2015 to November 2021. Szoke previously held positions as an instructor at The Connecticut School of Broadcasting and as an adjunct professor at Queens University of Charlotte. Szoke's earlier career includes serving as Sports Director at iHeartMedia and Lincoln Financial Media. Szoke holds a BS in Journalism from Bowling Green State University, earned between 1983 and 1987.
