James A. Newcomb, Jr.

President at Caroline County Public Schools

James A. Newcomb, Jr. (Jim) was first appointed to a five-year term on the school board in 2006. In 2012, he ran for and was elected to a six-year term on Caroline’s first elected/appointed hybrid school board. He was re-elected in 2018.

Mr. Newcomb has a B.S. in Geography. He worked with the agricultural community for 24 years relating to Soil & Water Conservation Districts, and for the last six years, he has been employed with MidAtlantic Farm Credit in Denton.

Both Jim and his wife graduated from Colonel Richardson High School and have been actively involved in ensuring all children in in Caroline receive the best education possible.
