Charles Atkinson

Charles Atkinson is a seasoned surgeon with over two decades of experience in various surgical practices. Currently, Charles serves as a surgeon at Agave Surgical Associates since September 2001, focusing on general surgery, particularly advanced laparoscopic, colorectal, and endocrine procedures. In addition, Charles has been involved with Tucson Medical Center since 2012, providing outpatient wound care using advanced technologies, and serves as the Chairman of Surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital since January 2010. Charles also offers emergency surgical services at Tucson Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital through Emergency Surgical Services of Arizona since July 2008, and has held the position of Wound Care Director at Cornerstone Hospital since 2007. Leadership experience includes serving as President of the Tucson Surgical Society from January 2009 to December 2011. Charles previously served as an attending surgeon in the United States Air Force from July 1997 to September 2001. Education includes a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychobiology from Swarthmore College.
