Syam Sasi

Syam Sasi has a strong background in software engineering and testing. 🔉Syam worked at Carousell Group, starting as a Software Engineer II in May 2017 and later progressing to the role of Senior Software Engineer I in July 2018. In April 2022, they became the Lead Software Engineer at the company. During their time at Carousell Group, Syam focused on improving the quality within the Seller Experience delivery team by reviewing product requirements, preparing test plans, and implementing shift left processes.

In addition to their work at Carousell Group, Syam also co-founded TAQELAH in February 2018 and held the role of Co-Founder. 🔉Syam has also gained recognition as a speaker at various conferences and meetups. In 2018, they were a speaker at the Singapore Appium Meetup, and in 2019, they spoke at the Vietnam QA Meetup and Taqelah Meetup in Singapore.

Syam has also shared their expertise at international conferences such as the HUSTEF - Hungarian Software Testing Forum in 2019 and the Selenium Conference in India in 2020. At these events, they presented on topics related to iOS testing, Docker-based solutions, and using tools like Ansible, Selenium Grid, and Appium for building reliable and scalable testing environments.

🔉Syam has also contributed to the software testing community by conducting workshops. In 2018, they served as a workshop instructor at the PHtestCon, and in 2019, they conducted a workshop at Prathidhwani Technical Forum.

Syam Sasi completed their education with a BTech degree in Information Technology from Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology in the years 2006-2010. Before that, they obtained their plus two degree in Computer Science from Model Technical Higher Secondary School from 2003-2005. Their earlier education was at Government Higher Secondary School, Perumbalam, but no specific degree or field of study was mentioned. In addition to their formal education, Syam Sasi has obtained certifications in "Foundations of Cybersecurity" from Coursera and "Secure Coding in Go" from LinkedIn, both in the year 2023.
