Naza Shelley has an extensive work experience that spans from 2005 to present. In 2005, they worked as a Technical Writer / CM Intern at Pragmatics, Inc. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Law Clerk and Legal Intern at Gebhardt & Associates, LLP, where they drafted discovery, pretrial, and post trial motions as well as examination and cross-examination questions in Employment Discrimination cases. During this time, they also worked as a Legal Intern at AARP and a Judicial Intern in the Chambers of the Honorable Judge Emmet G. Sullivan at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. In 2011, they also worked as a Business Manager at Netmego. From 2014 to 2018, Shelley worked as an Attorney Advisor at the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia, where they were responsible for case and team management, and successfully represented the Commission in oral arguments before the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. In 2019, they became a Member of For(bes)The Culture. Most recently, in 2018, Shelley founded and became the Chief Executive Officer of CarpeDM, Washington D. C.’s most exclusive member-only dating community created for singles seeking meaningful relationships with professional Black women.

Naza Shelley received a Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in 2011, with a field of study in Law. Naza obtained a Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia in 2008, with a field of study in English & Spanish. In 2013, they obtained the D.C. Bar from the D.C. Court of Appeals. In 2012, they obtained the Maryland State Bar from the Maryland Court of Appeals. In 2015, they obtained the Virginia Bar - Corporate Counsel from the Virginia State Bar.
