Tapan Shah

Vice President Electronics & Electrification Markets at Carpenter Technology

Tapan Shah has extensive work experience in various roles within the engineering and manufacturing sector. Tapan started their career in 2004 as an Engineer at MSi Testing and Engineering in Melrose Park, Illinois. In 2005, they joined North American Stainless as a Product and Process Engineer, where they were responsible for product and process ownership, resulting in significant revenue growth. In 2011, Shah joined Carpenter Technology Corporation as a Product Engineer, and later transitioned to the role of Commercial Product Manager. In this position, they played a key role in developing new products, establishing pricing strategies, and driving revenue growth. In 2016, Shah was promoted to Vice President for Electronics and Electrification Markets, where they successfully built Carpenter Electrification, a startup division within the company, and secured new business opportunities. Throughout their career, Shah has demonstrated strong leadership and the ability to drive business growth through innovation and strategic decision-making.

Tapan Shah has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Metallurgy from Maharaja Sayaji Rao University, which they obtained from 1997 to 2001. Tapan then pursued a Masters degree at the University of Illinois Chicago from 2001 to 2003. Tapan furthered their education at the University of Cincinnati, where they earned an MBA from 2007 to 2010. In 2018, they attended Harvard Business School for a course on Executive Strategy: Building and Sustaining competitive advantage.
