Steven D. Metzger

Steve Metzger is an accomplished legal and corporate executive with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as President at Carriage Services since May 2018, Steve has held various leadership roles within the company, including EVP, Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel, SVP & General Counsel, and Lead Counsel. Prior to this, Steve was with Ignite Restaurant Group from 2016 to 2018, where titles included SVP & General Counsel and VP & General Counsel. Steve's earlier career includes significant positions at Service Corporation International from July 2009 to June 2016, serving as Managing Counsel, Senior Counsel, and Corporate Counsel, as well as an Associate role at Engvall & Hlavinka, LLP from 2004 to 2009. Steve received a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. in Government from The University of Texas at Austin.
