Barby Skaling

Barby Skaling is a Community Health and Culture Advisor at Carrier Sekani Family Services, where responsibilities include researching and presenting Carrier Sekani Nation culture and traditional laws, liaising with programs to identify cultural support needs, and enhancing cultural integration within health services. Skaling has served as Community Health Manager since 2007, working with ten Aboriginal communities to provide culturally competent HIV/AIDS information and advocate for health equity. Previous roles include Education Program Coordinator at the BC Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Society and Licensed Practical Nurse at Vancouver General Hospital. Educational background includes a Business Administration degree from the College of Business in Vancouver, and a Licensed Practical Nurse certification from the College of New Caledonia.
