Martin Vetter has extensive work experience in venture investment and technology commercialization. Martin currently serves as the CEO of AVAC Group, a Canadian venture investor focused on technology and agriculture sectors. Martin has been with AVAC since 2008, initially starting as a Sr. Investment Manager. In addition to their role at AVAC, Martin Vetter is also a Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Carrot Ventures, an agricultural technology commercialization company. Martin has been with Carrot Ventures since 2019. Martin Vetter is also a Board Member of Cellar Insights, a Canadian AgTech startup focused on remote monitoring of potato health in storage. Martin joined Cellar Insights in 2023 as a Board Member. Furthermore, Martin Vetter has held board positions in several other companies including Susterre, samdesk, Wedge Networks Inc., Leankor, BlackSquare Inc., eThor, and iConnectivity.
Martin Vetter's education history begins in 1983 when they attended the Memorial University of Newfoundland, where they earned a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering in 1988. Later, in 1996, they pursued further education at the University of Calgary and completed an MBA degree in 2000. In 2011 and 2012, Martin engaged in the Foundations for Personal Leadership program through ContEd at the University of Calgary. Martin then pursued several professional development programs, including the Enterprise Risk Management Seminar at the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2017, the Boardroom Financials program at the Institute of Corporate Development in 2014, and the HR & Compensation Committee Effectiveness program at the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2014. Lastly, it is noted that Martin is enrolled in the Private Capital Governance Program at CVCA-ICD, with an expected completion date in 2023.
