Byron A. Booker, Ph.D., serves as Assistant Professor of Education, Director of TESOL, and Assistant Chair for Graduate Education at Carson-Newman University since January 2022. Prior to this role, Byron held the position of High School Administrator at Cherokee High School within Hawkins County Schools from July 2017 to December 2022. Byron's extensive experience in education also includes roles as an Adjunct Instructor at Carson-Newman University from June 2009 to December 2020 and High School Administrator in Knox County Schools, overseeing South Doyle High School and Austin East Magnet High School, along with teaching English Learners at Knox Central High School.
