David Underwood is an accomplished artist and Professor of Art at Carson-Newman University, where teaching includes various photography and art classes, along with directing the Art Galleries. Underwood served as Chairperson of the Art Department from 2001 to 2014. As an independent artist, Underwood has work in the permanent collections of 16 art museums across the USA and has held 31 solo exhibitions in addition to being part of over 125 group exhibitions in the USA and Europe. Education includes a Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Carson-Newman University.
