Melissa Brown

Melissa Brown is a seasoned professional in nonprofit consulting and philanthropy with extensive experience spanning over three decades. Currently serving as a Project Associate at Carter, Advancing Philanthropy Worldwide, Melissa also operates as the Principal of Melissa S. Brown & Associates, LLC, specializing in research and writing for nonprofit organizations. Melissa has held significant roles, including Faculty Member at The Fund Raising School and past Chair of the Association of Philanthropic Counsel, where leadership in the nonprofit consulting community was fostered. Additional experience includes a decade at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy as Associate Director of Research, and a Managing Editor role at Giving USA.
